DATO NOORAZMAN ABD AZIZ

Dato’ Noorazman Abd Aziz is a seasoned professional with 38 years of experience in banking, financial markets, treasury, and investments. His expertise and contributions to the field of Islamic finance were recognized when he became the inaugural recipient of the Asian Banker Achievement Award for Islamic Finance in 2005.

Dato’ Noorazman holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Louisiana State University, USA. He has further honed his skills through the Citicorp Associate Program at the Training Institute in New York, USA. He is an active member of several esteemed institutions, including the Chartered Institute of Islamic Finance Professionals (CIIF), the Australian Institute of Corporate Directors (AICD), and the Institute of Corporate Directors, Malaysia (ICDM).

Dato’ Noorazman has held several key positions throughout his career. He was an Executive Director of Investments at Khazanah Nasional Bhd and the co-founder and Managing Director of FajrCapital. He also served as the Managing Director and CEO of BIMB Holdings Berhad and Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad, and Managing Director and Head of Corporate and Investment Banking at Citibank Berhad. He held leadership roles at the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange Berhad and Labuan Offshore Financial Services Authority and contributed to the Ministry of Finance during his secondment. His early career included roles at Citibank Berhad as a Senior Vice President of Corporate Banking & Treasury and as a Senior Corporate Services and Analyst at Perbadanan Nasional Berhad.

Dato’ Noorazman holds several prominent board memberships. He is the Director and Chairman of the Board for MUFG Bank (Malaysia) Berhad, Sunlife Malaysia Assurance Bhd, Sunlife Malaysia Takaful Bhd, and CTOS Digital Bhd. He also serves as a Director of Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor Berhad. His commitment to education and philanthropy is evident through his role as Chairman of Yayasan UEM and its Board of Trustees, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the International Centre for Education in Islamic Finance (INCEIF).

In addition to his board roles, Dato’ Noorazman is a member of the Investment Panel of Kumpulan Wang Persaraan (Diperbadankan) and the Audit Oversight Board of the Securities Commission of Malaysia.
